Kokone Takatsu

Kokone is the first android Alpha meets when she delivers a unique camera to her.  Kokone lives in Yokohama and has a job as a messenger for the Mushahino Delivery Company.  Kokone becomes interested in Alpha and instantly becomes friends with her.  It is through Kokone that all transfers in the series take place. Unlike Alpha Kokone has the confidence to leave the home of her former owner and strike out on her own. Like Alpha Kokone is seen carrying a gun in a small holster on the back of her belt for self defense purposes. Kokone has the desire to learn all she can about the Alpha model androids.

Kokone's dream, however, is to one day live in the same area Alpha keeps her cafe. Over the years Kokone's fascination with Alpha changes from a great curiosity about the Alpha model robots to one more focused on Alpha and her easy going laid back way of life. At work Kokone is partnered with a female human named Shiba who takes her under her wing at work showing teaching her the ins and outs of the work world and life itself. Kokone lives in a modest little apartment in Musahino throughout much of the series.

Early on in the series Kokone is the confidence Alpha lacks. She slowly helps to bring Alpha out of the shell she has built around herself. As the series progresses, and Kokone meets the bold and straight forward Maruko she starts to become timid and more reserved becoming comfortable in the life she lives. Kokone shows brief signs of wanderlust and the ability to connect with the engine of her motor scooter.

Kokone is first featured in chapter seven of volume one of the series and makes her last appearance in chapter 140 of volume 14. She has been featured in a handful of chapters both with and without Alpha.
