Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou Anime

Currently there are two OVAs of the YKK anime available.  The first OVA was released in 2002 while the second  was released in 2003.  The anime follows the format of the manga being slow-paced and quiet.   The first OVA introduces us to Alpha and the people she knows while the second OVA follows Alpha as she takes her year long journey through the Japanese countryside.

Currently there are three sources for getting the OVAs.  CDJapan, Amazon Japan, and through fansubs.  If you do choose to get the DVDs directly from Japan be advised that they are coded region 2 so you will need a region free DVD player or can only watch them on your DVD ROM player on your computer.

CD Japan isn an English language site sells both OVAS plus two soundtracks and three drama CDs.  The prices listed on the page are in Yen but once you click on the actual product itself they do give you the price in US Dollars. You can find Yokohama Kaidshi Kikou on CD Japan.

Amazon Japan is another good place to find Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou for import. It's a bit hard to understand but if you can figure out how Amazon Japan works you can get your YKK here too.  As with CDJapan all DVDs are region 2 coded and will only work on a region free DVD player or your computer's DVD ROM drive.  All prices are in Yen and there is an English help page for those that need it. Fansubs

Fansubs for YKK here in America are available through Bit Torrents from New Life Anime.  I have yet to find an IRC channel that offers the OVAs but once I do I'll stick up the link here.  To get the torrents of the OVAs you will need to download the bit torrent program.  Once you have that you're on your way to getting YKK.
